Once you've registered for an event, you'll be able to access and launch virtual events in Handshake.
You can navigate to the event in Handshake via the registration confirmation email, events search page or automated notifications.
Registration Confirmation Email:
After registering for an event via Handshake, a registration confirmation email is sent to the email address on your Handshake account. This email includes a link to the event page. For more information on the email content and an example, refer to the bottom of the registration article.
Events Search Page:
Click Events in the upper-left corner of Handshake, then click on the event name from Your schedules on the right of the page.
Automated Notifications:
We provide two automated notifications within Handshake and via email: the first is generated 24 hours before the event start, and the second 1 hour before the event start. Click on the link provided in the notification to go directly to the event in Handshake.
These event reminder notifications are enabled by default –– if you'd like to change your notifications, please follow the steps in Managing Your Notification Preferences.

Note: If you register within 24 hours of the event start time, you will only be sent the registration confirmation email and one notification, one hour prior to the event start time. If you register within an hour of the event start time, you'll be sent the same confirmation and reminder emails, however, the standard "one hour" notification email will be sent shortly after registration, so the "minutes till event start time" in the email will vary.
Click Join event to launch the event video. You'll be able to join the event up to 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start time and at any point through the scheduled event end time.
If the event is hosted externally, there will be note on the page that indicates the event is hosted on a platform outside of Handshake, to the left of the Join event button.
Events hosted with Handshake Video will display the same Join event button.
