Scheduling with availability calendars
Availability calendars allow you to set up a schedule indicating when you’re available to host virtual info chats.
Using Handshake's integrated video functionality, you can easily schedule and manage virtual chats, optimising both your time and that of your candidates. Learn more about Hosting via Video on Handshake.
Note: If you prefer using a different video provider, you can do so. Simply share the external video link with your candidate(s) to facilitate the session.
Configure an availability calendar
Each calendar is tailored to individual schedules, providing flexibility and ease in coordination. Below are the key features and considerations when configuring your availability calendar:
- They can be set up for only one person per schedule.
- They can be set up for yourself or a teammate.
- They can be recurring. However, they cannot be repeated for more than 6 months at a time.
- Sessions are limited to 15 minutes each (this length cannot be changed)
- Sessions can only be hosted on Handshake video, and there is no recording option available.

Promote an availability calendar
Once your availability is set up, students can easily schedule time with you. You can also invite students to sessions directly.
