Employer tags

We launched new filters on the employers page that help your team identify employers you might like to review more closely for potential moral, ethical, or legal concerns—like being a cannabis company or third party recruiter. Tags mirror decline reasons our partners are asked to select when declining an employer.

Employer collections in Targeted Emails

You can now highlight entire employer collections via Handshake content modules when building emails. This is a great way to promote employers you’ve signal boosted to your students.

Custom appointment availability message

You can now customize a message shown to students when there are no available appointment slots. This allows your team to direct students to relevant resources if they can’t schedule time with you.

Event management

We refreshed the events page and added the option to bulk approve events. When creating an event, your team now selects up to two categories to help your students more easily understand the purpose of the event (and more easily search for relevant ones).

For students…

Event search

We’ve launched our new event search experience for students. We conducted research earlier this spring to learn what matters most to students when searching for events and fairs. Learnings from that research informed this update, which splits out events with and without employers, helping students easily find relevant programming.

Skills innovations

We are running scoped product-based experiments to learn alongside our school partners about the opportunities that are most valuable for students. We are exploring ways to help students discover skills-to-career paths, demonstrate their skills, and build additional skills. Events featuring alumni

This fall, you’ll be able to add information about alumni (like graduation year, major, current company, and a short bio) when you host events featuring alumni speakers. Students will be able to see this information when browsing events.

Job auto-approval rules

Later this summer, you’ll be able to auto-approve jobs while setting exceptions for certain types of jobs you’d like to review manually—like part time jobs, jobs in a particular industry, or jobs out of state.

Event pages

Over the last few months, we’ve conducted research to learn about what matters most to students when searching for and attending events and fairs. In the coming weeks, we’re updating event pages to highlight information that’s most important to students, help them find alternative events if they can’t make the time, and display new event category tags that help students understand the event’s purpose.
