About Payments

Tawnya -

Handshake gives schools two options for taking payments from employers for fees charged.  You can accept payments either by credit card or manually.

Credit card payments are handled through Stripe, an online transaction service.   Stripe is a third-party payments processor which enables the schools using Handshake to accept payments online. It stores customer credit card information, and processes payments (saving the school from having to accept the risk of storing credit card information). Stripe is one of the most trusted payment processing platforms available today for web transactions and many leading ecommerce companies use Stripe for secure payment processing.  If you’d like to learn more about Stripe, please visit their website. Manual payments are any payments made by employers to schools through any method other than credit card payments made on Handshake through Stripe.  Checks, money orders, wire transfers, or in-person credit card use would all be considered "Manual" payments.
