Edit, Remove, or Archive an Appointment Type

This article will provide an overview of how Handshake deals with appointment types, and will go over how to edit an appointment type and how to remove an appointment type.

 

Edit an Appointment Type

1. Click on your school name on the left side navigation bar, third from top, and you’ll be directed to your school’s page.

2. Click the Edit tab in the top right corner to be taken to your school’s settings (you can also get to this page by clicking School Settings from your drop-down menu in the top right corner).

3. Click Appointment Types tab on the left-hand side of the screen to be taken to a list of your school’s appointment types.

4. Click on the Edit button on the appointment type you would like to edit.

  • Here you can add/remove Details of the appointment type, attach survey’s to the appointment type, and add messages for the system to send out in regards to this appointment type edit_appointment_type.png
  • Selecting the Requirements tab located at the bottom of the page allows you to add/remove the requirements a student must have when applying to this appointment type appointment_type_requirements.png

 

Once you are finished editing the appointment type, select the Save Changes button on the bottom right to save the changes you made 

 

Remove an Appointment Type

1. Click on your school name on the left side navigation bar, third from top, and you’ll be directed to your school’s page.

2. Click the Edit tab in the top right corner to be taken to your school’s settings (you can also get to this page by simply clicking School Settings from your drop-down menu in the top right corner).

3. Click the Appointment Types tab on the left-hand side of the screen to be taken to a list of your school’s appointment types.

4. Click on the Edit tab on the appointment type you would like to remove.

5. In the lower left-hand corner of the screen, you will see the Cancel button with an arrow pointing up. Select the arrow to receive a popup selection of Cancel, Delete, and Archive. Click on Delete to delete the appointment type.

**Please note: if there are any existing appointments linked to the appointment type you wish to remove, you'll first need to manually edit the appointment and change the type to something else. Once you've done that, you will be able to remove the type successfully.

 

Archive an Appointment Type

If you'd like to archive the appointment type instead of deleting it (for example, if there are many linked appointments that will take too long to edit), you can use the same steps as above for removing a type, and then choose Archive instead of Delete.

Archiving instead of deleting can be beneficial for reporting accuracy as well, if you have existing appointments!
