How to Import Historical FDS Responses

What data do I need to import FDS responses?

  • Student email
    • The student must exist in Handshake in order to add a first destination response
  • Education level name
  • Employment category name
    • We can help you map this but Handshake’s options are:
      • Continuing Education
      • Military
      • Not Seeking
      • Still Looking
      • Volunteering
      • Working
  • If Working - Employer name
  • If Continuing Education - School Name
  • If Military - Military Branch Name
  • If Not Seeking - Not Seeking Option Name
    • Other
    • Taking a gap year
    • Taking time off
    • Traveling
  • If Still Looking - Seeking Option Name
    • Continuing Education
    • Employment

Things to consider about importing FDS data

  • Are you planning to report to NACE?
    • If so, we may need additional data from you outside of what is required for imports.
  • Are you importing data in the middle of a collection cycle?
    • If so, we will want to make sure that you can run the reports that you need for each graduating group.
  • Would you like to import data outside of what you see here?
    • At this time we can’t import fields outside of those listed here.
