For career services...
First Destination Survey report with CIP codes
To enable our partners to more easily share their outcome data with NACE, we’ve added a new CIP Code column into our FDS one-click NACE report.
- Learn more about the FDS one-click NACE report here.
Events featuring alumni
We’ve added new fields to the event creation form to allow your team to share alumni speaker details (like grad year, major, current employer, and more)—students will see those details on the new event registration page as it rolls out.
Event character limits
We introduced a limit of 85 characters for event titles and 1500 characters for event descriptions. This also applies to events created by employers. This change will ensure that event information remains easily digestible for students, especially when browsing Handshake on a mobile device.
For students…
Employer collection “badge” and filter
All students now see a “badge” on employer profiles and job postings indicating that the employer was added to an employer collection by your team, and a filter on the jobs page allowing your students to identify opportunities posted by employers in collections.
- Read about the employer collection badge and filters here.
(Experiment) Remote filter in job search
We’re experimenting with a new filter on the job search page that helps students quickly find remote opportunities. It’s currently live for 50% of students—we’ll decide whether to roll it out to all students in the coming weeks.
Event discovery page
We have incorporated partner feedback into the new student event discovery experience, which includes 1) increasing visibility of events/fairs hosted by career services 2) making it easier for students to find all types of events/fairs 3) improved event relevancy. The new experience has launched to 50% of students—it will launch to all students in a few weeks.
- Note: The new event discovery page includes a new design for event cards—this new design will be reflected on the homepage as the new page launches too.
- Learn about the new event discovery page here.
Event registration page
We’ve updated this page to provide more contextually relevant information like details of featured alumni in attendance, similar event suggestions, and new event categories to help students better understand the purpose of an event. The new page has launched to 50% of students—it will launch to all students in a few weeks.
- Learn about the new event registration page here. Note: the updated page hides comments from students.
For employers…
Employer validation
Employer validation is live and is slowly being incorporated into the employer Trust Score calculation. As a result, you can expect to see most employers' Trust Score rise. In December, we’ll remove the Trust Score.
- Learn more about employer validation here.
- Share this help article with employer partners if they have questions.
Messaging students
As we work to replace the Trust Score with Handshake’s new employer validation process, we’re changing the way employers gain permission to send messages to students. Previously, employers have needed a Trust Score of 80 or above to send messages. We’ve begun rolling out a new rule that employers will instead need at least one approved job at an institution in order to message that institution’s students. The new rule is in place for a subset of employers—we will continue rolling out the new rule to more employers over the coming weeks. Note: with employer validation in place, Handshake is now monitoring employer messages for signs of malicious activity.
