Admin Permissions
To cap off our work on permissions, we're planning to roll out a new design for the new user account creation and user permissions pages! These updates will include the addition of recommended permission groups - sets of permissions we recommend for folks with a variety of different roles (including faculty and campus partners).
- Read more about the impending update here!
- We'll also be releasing an update that allows your team to designate your organizational role within your office - this will help our team maintain a better picture of the structure of your office!
Bulk Complete Appointments
We're building an update that will allow you to select multiple appointments and move them to "complete" status all at once. Our goal here is to help your team streamline appointment management for more accurate reporting!
Event Waitlists
A huge win for your most popular events and career fairs - we’re building out functionality that will allow your team to manage a waitlist of students once you’ve hit capacity. If space opens, you'll be able to move waitlisted students into the event. You can see an early mock up of this functionality below - stay tuned for more details!
Student & Employer Activity Snapshots
We recently released updates to bring even more relevant data to the student and employer activity snapshots!
- Student snapshots now feature room only check ins, Reviews, FDS responses, and Experiences
- Student job seeking status had previously been announced as launched - this is still coming soon. Apologies for the miscommunication!
- Employer snapshots now feature FDS responses, Reviews, Experiences
- The count of messages sent per employer is coming soon! Thanks to everyone who requested this update! This will give your team more visibility into which employers are reaching out to your students proactively.
For Students...
New User Experience
Having done extensive foundational research on how we can better guide students logging in for the first time to the right resources in Handshake, we're planning to make updates to the student homepage and school profile page in the new year! These updates will make Handshake features and career center services and resources more prominent and easy to find. Today, we're able to share an early mockup of both new pages- please be advised that the design (including layout, language and icons) is not final. The page includes large buttons at the top of the screen that call out features a student may be looking to use, including a button to access the career center page (and your services) with your school's branding on it. Within the school profile page, tools such as appointments, resources, experiences, and first destination survey will also be featured via larger buttons. We'll share a mockup of that page soon.
Furthermore, the pinned items bar on the homepage is being upgraded to a full "collection", meaning that it will much more prominently show off the items you have pinned to students. The pinned items collection will show up at the top of the page for new users and within the first two to three collections for students who have shared career interests with us (in which case we'll feature a recommended jobs collection first). We've gotten a lot of feedback from schools that pinned items should be more elevated on the page - we hope this update will help students find them more easily. We shared these mock ups with several schools and students during the research phase of this project and got a lot of fantastic feedback that we've incorporated into the designs. We're incredibly excited to begin testing it with students. We're aiming to being small scale rollouts later this month. If you have any questions about the rollout, please feel free to join us for one of our upcoming New Homepage Office Hours sessions - registration details here.
Mobile SSO Login
Our team is beginning work on single sign on (SSO) login for our mobile app! This will allow students to log into the app using their standard school SSO credentials, greatly simplifying the process of login on mobile. We're also building functionality that will allow students to log out of the app.
Mobile Employer and Student Search
As we continue to work to bring the full functionality of Handshake to our mobile app, our team is working on building out our employer and student search features for mobile.
Student Login
Our team is developing updates to the student login process that aim to make it a more seamless experience. One of our main goals is to begin resolving the issue of erroneous duplicate account creation. We'll share mockups of the proposed change as soon as they're available!
Branding Updates
The next branding update we'll be making is to the font used in Handshake. This will not make any dramatic changes to the user interface, but you can expect to see pages get updated over the coming weeks.
For Employers...
Email Campaigns to Opted-In Contacts
We're building an update for premium employers that will allow students with a private Handshake account to provide contact information to employers and opt into follow up emails. Typically, employers at an event would collect emails from interested students via pencil and paper, a spreadsheet, or another third party platform. This update ensures that they can manage all event follow ups through Handshake. The student is in complete control of whether they want to share their information with the employer, and whether they want to participate in follow-up campaigns. This update only applies to students with a private Handshake account, since they cannot be messaged by employers through Handshake - it allows them to grant individual employers the ability to connect with them.

I am curious as to the specific day this update will be available so I can set some dates to walk through these updates with my staff. Any information on this?
