We’re excited to have you join the Handshake AI Fellowship! This program connects talented fellows with impactful projects through our AI Lab partners. Here’s an overview of what you can expect after applying, so you know exactly how to move from application to your first project.
1. Application Submitted
Once you submit your application, our team will review your information and match you to projects that fit your skills and experience. Project availability is based on the needs of our AI Lab partners, with new projects being added regularly.
To learn more about what happens after you apply, refer to Next Steps After Applying to the MOVE Fellowship.
2. Project Match & Interest Email
If you’re matched with a project, you’ll receive an email from our team asking if you’d like to express interest. This email will include key details such as:
- Project description
- Estimated project length
- Time commitment
- Pay and other important details
Sometimes, this email may also include a form where you’ll be asked to upload a slide deck or portfolio. This helps the AI Labs team evaluate the quality of your work before moving forward. All submitted information is securely maintained by Handshake.
3. Decision & Selection
After you submit your form of interest, there will be a short waiting period while interested candidates are reviewed for the project. If you’re selected to join the project, you’ll receive another email confirming your acceptance.
4. Training & Getting Started
Once you’re officially selected, you’ll begin training to prepare for your project. During this stage, you’ll learn:
- Detailed information about the project
- Expectations, deliverables, and responsibilities
- Best practices for success
- Where projects take place and time tracking
After completing training, you’ll be ready to start working on the project with confidence.
We’re here to support you at every step as you begin your journey with Handshake AI. If you have questions along the way, don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team—we’re always happy to help.
