To participate in the Handshake AI Fellowship, you must be at least 18 years old (or, if older, the age of majority in the jurisdiction of your residence). This applies to creating an account, completing onboarding, and working on any project — there are no exceptions.
There is no parental or guardian consent option to work on projects for Handshake AI. If you're under 18, you're not eligible to participate, regardless of school affiliation or project type.
Why this requirement exists
Joining Handshake AI means accepting the Handshake AI Contractor Agreement, which is a binding legal contract. As part of it, you're agreeing to work as an independent contractor, take on your own tax responsibilities, and accept terms like mutual arbitration. Since minors generally can't enter into agreements like this on their own, the 18+ requirement applies to the entire program.
