Handshake’s suite of about a dozen first destination survey (FDS) reporting dashboards help you easily segment, visualize, and share student outcome data.
- Analyze trends across outcome types, student demographics, location, industry, major, college and more—plus, extensive filtering options help you quickly drill down to unique subsets of your student body.
- Share outcomes easily by exporting visualizations via browser view or download.
Note: you will need both Analytics: Access and First Destination Surveys: Access permissions in order to access this data. If you do not have these permissions, please reach out to your team's Handshake administrator to request access.
Accessing FDS Dashboards
1. Click First Destination from the left navigation bar, then click the Analytics tab.
2. On the page that loads, you can choose from the results overview or from one of 14 pre-built dashboards listed. Click the button Go to Overview to access all data, or click on one of the dashboard tiles.
3. The overview and all dashboards have the same page layout and actions, broken down below.
Current Dashboard
The dashboard results option chosen displays at the top of the page–click the dropdown arrow to the right of the title to quickly navigate to a different dashboard.
Filters
All filters available are listed at the top of the shaded area, below the title.
Click on a filter for specifications and custom entries–filter criteria selections match what is presently in Analytics custom reporting (such as "Is", "Is not", "Contains", "Doesn't contain", etc.).
Click the semi-circle icon in the upper-right corner to apply your filter selections.
Note: filter selections will persist when you switch dashboards.
Download all visualizations
Click the vertical three dots menu in the upper-right corner of the page, then click Download.
In the popup that appears, select your download options:
- Format: CSV or PDF
- If PDF is selected, additional options appear:
- choose an option for Paper Size
- Arrange dashboard tiles in a single column
- If PDF is selected, additional options appear:
Click Open in Browser or Download to proceed. A new browser tab will open while the download generates and the download will occur automatically.
Download individual visualizations
Click the vertical three dots menu on a specific tile, to the left of the globe icon, then click Download.
In the popup that appears, select your download options:
- Format (dropdown menu): TXT / Excel Spreadsheet 2007 or later / CSV / JSON / HTML / Markdown / PNG

Dashboard Descriptions
Dashboards have unique areas of focus, across outcome types, demographics, employment details, and career center engagement.
All dashboards include filters for college, major, gender, ethnicity, labels and more.
