To access all your institution’s content and services on Handshake, you’ll need to connect your account to your institution’s instance.
After confirming your email address, if you only have access to certain areas like Feed, Events, and Profile, and jobs is greyed out on the left navigation menu, this means your Handshake profile isn’t linked to your institution, or you registered without an institution
Institution Not Linked
If you requested to connect with an institution, you can check the status of your request by clicking your account icon in the upper-right corner of the page, then selecting Institution Connections from the dropdown. If your request is still pending, you’ll have the message:
"Request sent! Hang tight while the institution reviews it."
To follow up, click the Email the institution link under Having issues?
If no contact information is listed, you can either reach out to your institution’s Career Services (You can typically find contact info on the institution website) or by contacting our Support team.

Registered Without an Institution
If you signed up for Handshake without an institution, certain features—like job access—are not yet available. The good news is that our team is working on it, and we'll be rolling out these experiences in the next couple of months. We appreciate your patience!
