AI Skills Studio is where learners build practical AI skills through hands-on projects called missions. Each mission is a short, guided project built around the same tools and workflows companies use every day. Developed with partner companies, missions give learners experience with real workplace tools, expectations, and ways of working. Every mission ends with a tangible, real-world deliverable—from a personal website or dashboard to a company hiring brief.
AI Skills Studio is included as part of Handshake and is completely free for anyone with a student account. It's mobile compatible, so learners can access missions and the AI Skills Instructor right from the app.
Note: Some missions use paid (“Pro”) features of third-party tools. While learning on Handshake is free, completing certain missions may require you to have a paid subscription to a third-party tool.
What learners can do in AI Skills Studio
- Browse and start any mission — there's no required order or prerequisite
- Work through a guided, voice-based AI instructor (or follow written instructions instead)
- Build in real third-party tools (Gemini, ChatGPT, Slack, etc.), guided by instructions in Handshake
- Track progress automatically and pick back up right where you left off
- Submit a finished project and share it to the AI showcase in Handshake

- Log in to your Handshake account.
- Click AI Skills Studio in the left navigation, or go directly to app.joinhandshake.com/learn.
