On Handshake, you can access and review candidates for all employer-hosted schedules, including availability calendars.
Note: Employer-hosted Schedules, except for Availability Calendars, are part of Event Manager — if you do not currently have this package, check with your Customer Success Manager for more information.

Accessing Candidates
1. Click on Scheduling from the left navigation bar in Handshake, and then locate the relevant schedule.
2. From here, click on either the Sessions or the Candidates tab to view your candidates.
Reviewing Candidates
Sessions tab
Whenever a student signs up for a session or is added to one, their name will display in the Candidate column and be hyperlinked.
Note: names of students without Handshake profiles won't be hyperlinked.
Click on the candidate's name to view their profile. Learn more about Viewing Student Profiles.
Tracking attendance
Schedules with a physical location will display an Attendance column in the Schedule table.
To mark a candidate as attended, click the blue text Mark as attended. If the candidate was marked as attended by error, click the x to the right of the text Attended.

Candidates that are added or invited to a schedule are listed in a table view, with optional filters on the left of the page.

On this page, you can sort and organize your candidates, view resumes, and message students.
Add Evaluation/Notes
1. Click the notepad icon to the left of the candidate's name.
2. Add an evaluation and/or note in the popup modal.

- Would you recommend (student name)?
- Select rating (1–4)
- 1- No
- 2- Neutral
- 3- Yes
- 4- Strong Yes
- Select rating (1–4)
- Would you recommend (student name)?
- Notes
- Add notes in textbox (if applicable)
- Select the checkbox for Personal Note to make the note private (only visible to you)
- Note: only the Meeting Host can give the candidate an evaluation. However, any teammate can add notes.
3. Click the blue button Save note if notes were added, and then click Done to save your evaluation and/or notes.
Download CSV (export the Candidates to a CSV)
1. Check the box to the left of each candidate's name, or the box in the upper-right corner of the header bar (# of # candidates selected) to select all candidates.
2. From there, click More, then click Download CSV.
The information below is included in this CSV:
- First Name, Last Name
- Email Address
- Institution
- Sign-up Date
- College
- Majors
- School Years
- Notes
- Evaluation Rating
Download Resumes
Employers can download resumes for students who have uploaded a resume in Handshake and have interacted with the company via various activities.

Add or Remove Labels
Labels are tags that can be applied to students to help sort, organize and streamline your workflows.
- To add a label, check the box to the far left of the candidate's name, then click Add Label from the bulk actions options that appear in the column header row above the attendees table.
- To remove a label, check the box to the far left of the candidate's name, then click More > Remove Label in the upper-right corner of the table.
Message Students
To message a student(s), you must have an approved job posting at their institution. For additional details, refer to How to Send a Student a Message.
