The Handshake AI pay dashboard explains your work and pay for every pay week and project. Each weekly breakdown includes base pay, incentives, adjustments, and disputes, with a clear reason provided for every adjustment.
Where to find your pay dashboard
- Log in to Handshake on the web and click AI work in the left navigation menu.
- Select the Payments tab at the top of the page.
On the Payments tab, you’ll find your earnings chart, your list of pay weeks, and a summary panel. The panel also has links to your payout method, the payment help center, and your tax forms.
Select a pay week to open its breakdown. There you’ll have access to the amounts that make up your total, any adjustments and their reasons, and the tasks included in your payment.

What you'll find on your weekly pay dashboard
Each pay week shows the amounts included in your total and the reason for any changes.
- A summary at the top of each pay week. It shows the date your pay is sent, your total pay, your earnings, and your deductions.
- Earnings by project. Each project lists your base pay with the rate, payable hours, and number of tasks. Expand a project to review its tasks.
- Task details. Click the arrow next to Base Pay to expand and review the individual tasks for a project. Each task shows its ID, the rate it was paid at, and the time recorded. Tasks that weren’t paid show why, such as “Review pending” or “Review criteria not met.” Click Open to view a task.
- Incentives. Click the arrow next to Incentive to expand and review the incentives you earned for a project. Each one is listed by type, such as a quality bonus, speed bonus, or recurring bonus, with a short description of what it was for and the amount.
- Referrals. Referral bonuses show which referred fellows qualified and the rate.
- Pay corrections. Deductions, honored disputes, balances carried forward from earlier weeks, and tax withholding (if it applies to you) are listed with a short description of each. Deductions appear in red.
Note: Your pay amounts are hidden by default. When you open the dashboard, amounts in the summary panel are displayed as asterisks (****). This includes Awaiting payout, Total paid, Tasks this week, and Hours this week. To view, select the visibility icon in the top-right corner of the panel to display your amounts.
How your pay is calculated
Your pay is based on verified work, meaning work that has been checked before your pay is finalized. Depending on the project, you may be paid per hour, per task, or through a combination of both.
To learn more about the different pay models and how they work, refer to Pay Models on Handshake AI Projects.
Before a pay decision is made, your dashboard may show an estimate based on the time you logged. Your final pay is based on what we confirm after checking your work. Depending on your project, that can include comparing your logged time with the record of active work on the third-party platform you used, confirming that your tasks were approved, and applying project limits such as a weekly hour cap or a per-task time limit. We also consider how long tasks typically take to complete.
If your final pay differs from the estimate, the dashboard shows an adjustment and the reason for the change. Reasons apply to adjustments made after the dashboard launched.
If logged time doesn’t match the work submitted, Handshake AI reviews the activity. Time that is inflated or falsified is not paid.
Pay is reviewed each week.
Why your pay might change
Your pay for a week may change after an initial amount is recorded. When this happens, your dashboard lists the change as an Adjustment and explains the reason.
An adjustment is a correction to your pay. It may increase or decrease the amount you receive. Each adjustment appears as a separate line item in the affected pay week, along with the amount and reason. The line items add up to your updated total.
Adjustments can happen when:
- time you reported on a third-party platform couldn’t be matched to the work recorded for it
- your time went over the weekly time cap for the project
- time on a task went over the task time cap
- a task submission was invalid or a duplicate
- a dispute you filed was reviewed and your pay was updated
- an incentive or task payment was issued by mistake and is being corrected
These are common reasons for adjustments, but other corrections may apply.
If a pay week ends below zero
If a correction brings a pay week below zero, the remaining amount carries forward and is deducted from your next payout. The dashboard includes a pay correction applied notice and a carried forward label with the original pay-week dates. No funds are withdrawn from your bank account.
