This error occurs when your role, permissions, or account type in Handshake restricts access to a specific page or task.
Check your role and access level
Roles such as Advocate, Recruiter, or Admin determine your permissions in Handshake. Ensure your role is appropriate for the action you're trying to complete.

Confirm your permissions are enabled
Even if your role is correct, certain permissions may not be enabled for your account. In this case, we recommend reaching out to your company’s Owner in Handshake to request the necessary access.

Ensure you're using the correct account type
Another possible cause of this error is registering with the wrong account type. If you accidentally signed up as a student instead of an employer, you’ll need to create a new account using the employer registration process.
