Your Handshake AI dashboard is the source of truth for everything related to your account and projects. It updates in real time and shows the latest available info on opportunities, assignments, earnings, and account standing.
Your dashboard is organized into three main tabs: Projects, Payments, and Referrals.
Projects Tab
The Projects tab is your home base for all project activity.
-
Your Projects: Displays all projects you're currently enrolled in or have previously worked on. Toggle between Current (active projects) and Past (paused or ended projects).
- Tip: Select a project to view its details, including your assigned tasks. Additional project resources, such as the project terms and other project-specific information—are available in the left-side panel.
- Invited To: Projects you've been personally invited to apply to based on your background and experience.
- Open Opportunities: All projects currently accepting fellow interest. Each project tile includes the project name and description, required tools or specializations, work type, current pay rate, number of fellows earning on the project, and a Submit Interest button.
Projects Sidebar
The sidebar on the right side of the Projects tab provides a quick overview of your activity and account.
- Awaiting payout — earnings approved and queued for your next payout (may not yet reflect all earnings)
- Total paid — all amounts paid and currently processing
- Tasks this week — number of tasks completed in the current week
- Hours this week — approved hours eligible for payment
- Update your profile — keep your skills, experience, and resume current so your project matches stay relevant. To learn more about updating your profile, check out Completing your Profile in Handshake.
- Spot suspicious activity — a reminder to watch for fraud or scam accounts impersonating Handshake; select "Learn more" for guidance on staying safe
Payments Tab
The Payments tab provides a visual overview of your earnings over time. Use the filters at the top of the page to view earnings by specific projects or time periods, including All Time, Week, Month, and Year. The earnings graph updates instantly based on your selected filters, making it easy to track your payment history and earnings trends.
Payments Sidebar
The right sidebar of the Payments tab includes the same activity summary as the Projects tab, plus a few additional options specific to payments and tax:
- Payment method — set up your payment method if you have not done so already, or verify that payments are being sent to the correct account
- W-8/W-9 form — download your W-8/W-9 form
- Update tax form — update your tax information on file
Referrals Tab
The Referrals tab is where you can find your personal referral link to share with others who may be interested in joining the Handshake AI Fellowship. For full details on how the referral program works, eligibility, and earnings, check out Referring someone to the Handshake AI Fellowship.
Dashboard Updates
Your dashboard surfaces real-time updates for: project and task availability, current assigned projects, account updates and status. Email notifications are sent automatically at the time of certain activity, updates, or changes in the annotation platform.
Notice a difference between an email and your dashboard? Check when the email was sent, consider the information shared, and double-check what's different! Because projects can change quickly based on research needs, project priorities, quality requirements, timelines, and platform demand, the information shared in emails—including invitations, announcements, and pay-rate notifications—may become outdated.
Your dashboard reflects the most accurate information currently available and able to be displayed. Additional resources to check if something is still unclear:
- Project Terms: includes expectations for pay rate and structure, time commitment, location requirements, and other project rules.
- Project Instructions: information needed to complete tasks
- Slack: real-time announcements, updates, and other information
