By opting in to receive text messages from Handshake, you agree to these SMS & RCS Terms of Service ("SMS Terms"). These SMS & RCS Terms supplement, and should be read together with the Handshake Privacy Policy.
Programs you may enroll in
Handshake offers two separate messaging programs. You are only enrolled in a program if you have affirmatively opted in to it. Enrolling in one program does not enroll you in the other.
- Informational (Transactional) messages: Account and activity-related texts, such as projects seeking your participation, application status updates, interview or event reminders, account alerts, security/verification codes and other messages related to your use of Handshake.
- Promotional (Marketing) messages: Marketing texts, such as product announcements, new feature updates, surveys and other promotional offers from Handshake.
Message frequency and rates
Message frequency varies depending on your activity and the program(s) you're enrolled in. Message & data rates may apply.
How to opt out
You can stop receiving text messages from Handshake at any time. Text STOP to the number you received messages from. After you send STOP, we will send you a confirmation message, and you will no longer receive SMS messages from that program. If you are enrolled in both the Informational and Promotional programs, you may need to text STOP separately for each, or as instructed in the confirmation message, since opting out of one program does not automatically opt you out of the other.
Getting help
Text HELP to the number you received messages from for assistance. To contact the Handshake Support team, refer to Contacting Handshake Support.
Changes to these Terms
Handshake may update these SMS Terms from time to time. Continued participation in an SMS program after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated SMS Terms.
