Career Services User Settings: Language

You can set your own language and date/time format in Handshake. This setting only changes how the app displays text and formatting for your account. It does not change any app functionality.

To update your language:

  1. Open your user settings.
  2. Click Language in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click the Language dropdown.
  4. Select your preferred option from the list.

Supported languages:

  • English (US)
  • English (UK)
  • Deutsch (German)
  • Français (French)

Your selection also determines how dates and times display throughout Handshake. For example, with English (US) selected, dates display as 12/25/2025 and times display as 7:15 pm. With English (UK), Deutsch, or Français selected, dates display as 25/12/2025 and times display as 19:15.

If Handshake cannot detect a supported language, your account defaults to English (US).

Note: This will not change currency in your Handshake instance. Reach out to your Relationship Manager if you are interested in changing the type of currency (US Dollar, British Pound, Euro).
