Employers can select from the interview timelines supported by the school when requesting an interview schedule, and then customize the timeline to best suit their needs and preferences.
Handshake provides schools with three basic interview schedule timelines to offer employers.
If you prefer a timeline schedule that isn't available, reach out to the school to discuss a possible solution. To locate a school's contact information in Handshake, refer to How to Contact a School.
A room will be reserved in Handshake, but you will set up and manage your interviews outside Handshake.
You can select from applicants in Handshake, but they will not be able to take slots in Handshake.
Specify an application period that allows students who meet the job's qualifications to reserve slots.
- Applicants whose profile and education information match the job's qualifications can immediately reserve a slot after applying.
- Applicants who don't match the qualifications will be marked as 'Pending' and will need to be manually updated to 'Primary' to sign up.
Specify both an application period and a sign up period.
After the application period has ended, you may select 'Primary' and 'Alternate' candidates from the students who applied.
- Candidates you designate as “Primary” are allowed to sign up any time after the primary sign up date.
- Candidates you designate as “Alternate” are allowed to sign up any time after the alternate sign up date.
