Each school manages its own student and alumni approvals in Handshake. If you requested a connection to the wrong school, use the steps below depending on your situation.
If you request hasn't been approved
If the school you requested to connect with hasn’t approved your request, you can update it by following these steps:
- Click your account icon in the upper-right corner of the page, then select School connections.
- If your request shows as Pending, click Cancel request and confirm when prompted.
After canceling the request:
- Use the Find your school search bar to locate the correct school.
- Select your school, then enter your email address and any additional required information.
- Verify your email address to complete the connection.
If your request was approved by the wrong school
- Contact the career services center at your correct school.
- Let them know you were added to the wrong school in Handshake.
Be sure to include:
- Your full name
- The email address you use for Handshake
Your school’s career services team can then reach out to Handshake to have your account moved to the correct school.
