On-campus interviews in Handshake let your school and employers work together to create and manage interview schedules. These schedules are set up by your school’s career center in partnership with employers who have active job postings. When you apply to certain jobs, you may also be considered for an associated on-campus interview schedule.
Locating on-campus interviews at your school
You can connect with on-campus interviews in two ways:
- Search for a specific interview schedule, then apply to one of the related jobs.
- Search for jobs that already have an on-campus interview schedule attached, then apply to those jobs.
Search for a specific Interview
1. Click your account icon in the upper-right corner of Handshake
2. Select Meetings from the dropdown.
3. On the My Meetings page, the view defaults to Employer meetings—Click the On-Campus Interviews tab in the upper-left corner.
4. A list of on-campus interview schedules available at your school will load. Use the filters on the left side of the page to narrow the list, for example by:
- Keyword search
- Industry
- Employer
- Job
- Interview Type
- Label
- Not Labels
- Timeline Status
- Date (range)
- Include Completed Interview Schedules (to review past interviews)
Tip: Select the star icon next to an interview schedule (or on its details page) to favorite it for easy access later. At the top of the filters list, choose My Favorite Interviews to quickly review schedules you’ve favorited.
Search for jobs with on-campus Interviews
1. Click Jobs in the left navigation menu.
2. On the Jobs page, click Filters in the header above the job results.
3. In the filters panel, scroll down to Employer Contacts and check the box for Interviewing on campus.
4. Click Apply in the lower-right corner of the filters panel.
Jobs that have an attached on-campus interview schedule will be displayed. You can review these postings and apply as you normally would.

Applying to a job connected to an on-campus interview at your school
When you open an on-campus interview schedule from My Meetings:

If applications are not yet open, the Apply button will not be clickable. A message below the button will state:
“Applications open on [DATE/TIME].”
To return later, save the job by selecting the bookmark icon in the job posting, next to the Apply button. Learn more in My Saved Jobs in Handshake.

If applications are open, a message at the top of the interview page will state:
“To apply to this interview schedule you must qualify and apply through one of the associated jobs.”
Scroll to the Related Jobs section midway down the page to review and apply to any connected jobs you are interested in.
- If you open an interview schedule you have already applied to, a message at the top of the page will state that your application has been submitted and is being reviewed. This means the employer has not yet finalized who they will invite to interview.
Checking the status of your application
To review applications you’ve submitted in Handshake:
- Click your account icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select My Jobs from the dropdown.
- On the My Jobs page, click Filters.
- Under Application Type, choose Applications to interview.
- Click Apply.
All applications tied to an on-campus interview schedule will be listed, along with each application’s status and application date. Select the interview title to open more details.

On the interview details page, you’ll typically find:
- Employer
- Interview Name
- Interview Schedule Type (Open / Preselect / Room Only)
- Allow Multiple Applications? (Yes / No)
- Timeline (current status and key dates)
- Labels
- Attachments (if your school has added any)

Missing the Career Center option on the left navigation bar?
Here are a few possible reasons:
- School not linked: If you've requested to connect with a school, check your status by clicking your profile icon, then School Connections. If it says "Pending," your school still needs to approve your request.
- No school on account: If you registered without selecting a school, features like the Career Center won’t be available. To connect, click your profile icon, then School Connections. Find your school and request to join.
- School not on Handshake (yet!): If your school isn’t a partner, encourage your career center to join so you can access more features.
