To increase student engagement and attendance at your events, you can add a personalized note to the automated RSVP confirmation email sent to students upon registration.
Adding a custom message allows you to reinforce key details, provide clear expectations, and create a more engaging experience for students.
This feature is available to Premium partners with the Handshake Events module. For more information, please check out this resource.
Access event
1. Click Events from the left navigation bar, then select the specific event where you want to add a personalized note.
2. On the event page, click the Communications tab.
The Communications tab provides an overview of all automated messages sent to students, including RSVP confirmation emails.
Here, you can:
- Preview transactional messages.
- Check the status of messages.
- Add a personalized note to RSVP confirmation emails to provide additional information for students.
Add a personalized note
1. Click the hyperlinked text Add note to the right of the RSVP confirmation email status.
2. On the next page, enter your message in the text box below the heading 'Notes from the host (optional)'. You may use the formatting toolbar at the bottom of the text box to format your text and attach links.
3. When you are finished, click the black button Confirm.
4. Your message will be automatically included in the RSVP confirmation email sent to registrants.
Preview or edit note
1. To preview or edit your note after adding it, navigate to the event where the note was added.
2. Click the ellipsis icon to the right of the RSVP confirmation email status, then select Preview from the dropdown.
3. From the preview page, you can take the following actions:
- To edit your note, click the white button Edit note.
- To delete your note, click the red trash bin icon.
- To exit out of the page, click the black button Cancel.
View email status
To check the status of the RSVP confirmation email, navigate to the Status column on the event page.
- Ready to send: The email is prepared and waiting to be sent to registrants.
- Sent: The email has been successfully sent to registrants.
