Not sure which Handshake plan your company is on, or what your user role is? Knowing both will help you understand which tools are available to you and what permissions you have in Handshake.
As of April 2026, we updated several Handshake plan names and upgrade options.
If you are currently a Handshake Plus subscriber, be aware that Handshake Plus is no longer available to new users as of April 2026. Your existing plan will remain active until you cancel.
As a Plus subscriber, you may notice the following in your account:
- "Basic" appears in the upper-left corner of your screen
- Your Plan & Billing page shows "Handshake Basic with Promoted"
To learn about your options going forward, visit Promote a Job or Upgrading to Handshake Pro.
Identifying your Handshake plan
1. Log in to your Handshake account.
2. Look at the top left corner of your screen, next to the Handshake logo.
3. Check the text displayed there, and if it says:
Talent Essentials or Enterprise: Your company is on a Premium plan.
-
Basic: Your company is either on a free plan, on a Handshake Plus (legacy) plan, or has the "Promoted job" add-on feature.
- If your Plan & Billing page displays "Handshake Basic," you are on a free plan.
- If your Plan & Billing page displays "Handshake Basic with Promoted," you have either promoted a job or are on Handshake Plus.
- Pro: Your company is on a paid plan. You may also have the Promoted Jobs feature added at a flexible rate.
If you have the Promoted jobs feature, visit your Plan & Billing page to view your promoted jobs and any upcoming charges.
