Students now are able to receive job recommendations based on both their career interests as well as their job search activity in Handshake. The student does have the option to opt out if they wish by updating their notification preferences. You can learn more on managing your notification preferences here: Managing Your Notification Preferences
There are two types of job recommendations:
Jobs Digest
Any student who has listed at least one career interest will receive:
- A weekly digest every Tuesday
- Containing 5-10 job recommendations
- Based on their career interests
- The jobs listed may not be new jobs, but existing jobs they hadn’t thought to search or view
- The opt-out link in the email will redirect back to Handshake and prompt student to update their notification preferences if they do not wish to receive these emails
Job Trigger Recommendations
Active job seekers (those who have viewed at least one job in Handshake) will receive:
- An email the next day
- Containing 5-10 job recommendations
- Frequency won’t exceed more than once daily
- Same as the weekly digest, the opt-out link in the email will redirect back to Handshake and prompt student to update their notification preferences if they do not wish to receive these emails
