Handshakes offers students personalized job recommendations based on their interests, activity, and engagement on the platform. These recommendations aim to help you discover opportunities that align with your career goals. As a student, you have full control over how you receive these notifications—whether through email or mobile push notifications.
For more information on managing your notification preferences, refer to Managing Your Notification Preferences.
Job Digest Emails
If you've listed at least one career interest in your Handshake profile, you'll automatically receive a weekly job digest email. This email is sent every Tuesday and includes 5–10 job recommendations based on the interests you've selected within your career interests. The recommendations may include roles you haven't yet viewed or applied to, but they could be relevant to your career goals.
Key Details:
- The jobs included in the digest may not be brand-new listings, but rather ones you haven't yet explored.
- The recommendations are personalized based on your profile and the activity you've had on Handshake (e.g., job views, searches, etc.).
- If you no longer wish to receive the weekly digest emails, click the Manage email preferences link within the email. This will direct you to Handshake, where you can adjust your notification preferences.

Key Details:
- The frequency of these emails will not exceed once per day.
- The email will include job recommendations that reflect your recent searches and views, designed to help you find the best-fit opportunities.
- If you no longer wish to receive the job recommendation emails, click the Manage email preferences link within the email. This will direct you to Handshake, where you can adjust your notification preferences.
