Application status definitions
Application statuses differ depending on whether you applied to a job that is connected to an on-campus interview schedule or not. Below, you'll find an overview of the status types for both categories.
If you want to follow up on your application status, it’s recommended to reach out directly to the employer or your career services center for updates.
Jobs not connected to an Interview Schedule
To view jobs that are not part of an on-campus interview schedule, use the filter on the left side of the page:
Application Type > Job.
-
Pending: when an application is submitted, the first status will always be set to Pending. A pending application status could mean:
- The employer has not yet viewed the application.
- The employer has yet to update the application status.
- Reviewed: the employer has reviewed your application but has not yet made a decision.
- Declined: the employer has reviewed your application and decided to not move forward with your candidacy.
- Hired: the employer reviewed the application and selected you for the position.
The statuses Pending, Declined, and Hired can be selected manually by an employer or your school's career services center.
Jobs connected to an Interview Schedule (On-Campus Interviews)
To view jobs that are part of an on-campus interview schedule, use the filter on the left side of the page:
Application Type > Interview Schedule.
- Submitted: the application has been submitted and is waiting to be reviewed.
- Primary: you have been selected as a primary candidate for the interview.
- Alternate: you have been selected as an alternate candidate for the interview.
- Declined: the employer has reviewed your application, but decided to not move forward with your candidacy.
- Hired: the employer reviewed the application and chose to hire you for the position.
All interview schedule statuses can be marked by an employer or your school's career services center.
