Handshake created dashboards help review data using a consistent interface across Handshake. While the dashboards provide different content, most dashboards use the same navigation patterns: top-level filters, pages or tabs, dashboard tiles, field switchers, and Explore. This experience is different from previous iterations of dashboards on Handshake so it's recommended to review the information below before using Handshake created dashboards.
Topics:
Where dashboards are located
Insights Hub
On the Insights page, under the Hub path, dashboards are available in the Handshake - Dashboards folder.
Specific features in Handshake
Some features in Handshake have dashboards available in the upper-right corner of the overview page. These features include:
- First Destination Responses
- Collections
- Employers
- Appointments
Navigating Handshake created dashboards
Filters
Filters at the top of the dashboard apply to the full dashboard unless the page specifically says otherwise.
That means these filters affect:
Every page or tab in the dashboard
Every chart or table on the dashboard
First Destination Outcomes Filters/Expanded Filters Example:
Pages or tabs
Some dashboards are divided into pages or tabs so related metrics are grouped together.
For example, one page may focus on summary data while another page focuses on a specific workflow or outcome area.
Note: When you go to a different page, the top-level filters still apply unless the dashboard says otherwise.
Field switchers
Some dashboards include a field switcher inside a dashboard section.
A field switcher can look similar to a filter, but it works differently:
A filter changes which records are included in the dashboard results.
A field switcher changes how the data is displayed or grouped.
For example, a field switcher may let you change a chart from one breakdown to another, such as viewing results by employer instead of another dimension. Changing the field switcher does not replace the top-level filters already applied to the dashboard.
Field Switcher example:
Dashboard tiles
Each chart, graph, or table on the dashboard is a separate dashboard tile. These tiles highlight a specific metric or view of the data.
Depending on the tile, you may be able to hover, click, or open additional options to see more detail.

Actions
Three dots menu
There are three dots menus available on dashboard tiles. These nest different actions like: Explore, Download, Alert, Schedule Delivery, and Copy.
Explore
Most dashboards include an Explore action in the upper-right corner of the dashboard. You can add fields and filters to find more specific information for your needs. Learn more about customized dashboards in Insights: How to Create a Custom Report and Dashboard.
Note: The Explore action does not appear for the Collections dashboard due to the fields that are pre-selected for that specific dashboard.
