Before the event
Access the event on Handshake
- Make sure you can access the event and navigate the Handshake platform either through the Events app or a desktop browser.

iOS users: Download the Handshake Events app from the App Store

Web users: Log in at app.joinhandshake.co.uk

If you’re new to the Handshake Events app, take a few minutes to explore its layout and functionality before the day of the event.
Confirm QR codes are printed
Your event lead should provide printed QR codes for attendee check-in. Bring them with you and display them clearly at the event.

Day of the event
Set up check-in stations
- Place printed QR codes in a visible location at the entrance of your booth.
- Optional: Provide a tablet or laptop on a stand for attendees who prefer not to use their phone or do not have one.
Launch the kiosk

Launch the kiosk while connected to a reliable internet connection, ideally before arriving at the event.

Once launched, the kiosk will stay active throughout the event, even if your device temporarily loses its internet connection.

Greet and prompt attendees to check in
- Encourage attendees to scan the QR code or check in via the tablet or laptop station.

Find and open the event in Handshake

Open the Handshake Events app, or log in at app.joinhandshake.co.uk

Locate and open the event or fair you want to manage
Evaluate attendees
You can evaluate attendees using either the Handshake Events app or the web version. Evaluations can include a thumbs up/down rating, notes, and labels to help your team track and engage with candidates after the event.

For the web version, navigate to the event or fair page and click the Candidates tab. Attendees will appear in real time as they check in. Refresh the page periodically to view the most recent check-ins.

For the app, tap Check-ins within the event to view attendees who have checked in and require evaluation.
