How to Take a Survey in Handshake

Your school may choose to create and conduct surveys in Handshake. If you are invited to take a survey, you can access it in two ways:

  • Directly from the invitation email
  • From the Surveys section in Handshake

Note: some surveys may be required by your school, while others are optional. 

 

Access the survey from the email

When your school invites you to take a survey, you will receive an email in your inbox. This email is sent to the primary email address associated with your Handshake account.

  1. Open the invitation email.
  2. Select the Take Survey Now button to be directed to the survey in Handshake.
  3. Answer each question by following the prompts.
  4. When you are finished, select the green Finish button to submit your response.

Example email details:

  • Title: Survey Invitation
  • From: Handshake handshake@notifications.joinhandshake.com 
  • Body: "You have been invited to take a survey on Handshake. A description of the survey and a direct link to take the survey in Handshake.

Access the survey from the Surveys section in Handshake

  1. Click Career Center from the left navigation menu.
  2. Select Surveys.
  3. All surveys you have been invited to are listed on this page.
    • If any surveys are required by your school, a yellow banner appears at the top of your Surveys dashboard.
    • Required surveys have a red Required badge displayed to the right of the survey name.
  4. Select the name of the survey you want to take.
  5. Answer each question by following the prompts.
  6. When you are finished, click Finish button to submit your response.

If you can’t find your survey

If you believe you have been invited to a survey but cannot locate it:

  1. Check your email:
    • Make sure you are checking the primary email address linked to your Handshake account.
    • Review your spam, junk, and promotions folders for the invitation email.
  2. Confirm in Handshake:
    • Log into Handshake and go to Career Center > Surveys to view all surveys you have been invited to.
  3. Still not finding it?
    • Contact your school’s career center. They can confirm whether the survey is still open, whether it is required, and whether it has been sent to your account.
