Create your account
Customize your profile
Once your account is active, you can customize your user and company profile. A complete profile helps build trust and rapport with students and school partners.
- Configure your account settings in Employer Account User Settings.
- Update your company profile in How to Edit Your Company Profile Settings.
- Build a high quality employer profile in Create a High Quality Employer Profile.
Set notification preferences
Handshake has default notification settings enabled, but you can customize how and when you receive communications.
Review your Default Notification Preferences (Employers).
Connect with schools
There are two ways to connect with schools on Handshake:
- To post a job to schools you'd like to recruit from, refer to How to Post a Job.
- To request to join a school's network without posting a job, visit How to Request Approval from Schools.
Build your recruiting skills
Handshake Employer Academy equips you with the latest strategies and tools to achieve your recruitment goals, while also providing the opportunity to earn professional development credits.
Every user connected to a company profile on Handshake has access to Employer Academy.
To get started, click your name in the upper-right corner of any page in Handshake, then select Employer Academy from the dropdown menu.
