If you've received notification via email that students have applied to one of your postings but you're unable to locate their application or they do not appear as an applicant in Handshake, it could be due to the toggle status of the Favourite Institutions filter or the withdrawal of the application to your job.
If toggled on, Handshake will only display data for applicants for institutions that are on your Favourite Institutions list.
To view all applicants, you can toggle off the Favourite Institutions filter. Learn more about Using the Favourite Institutions Filter.
If you'd like to only view applicants for institutions that are on your Favourite Institutions list, verify that the institutions are listed in your Favourite Institutions list.
To locate your list of Favourite institutions, click Institutions from the left hand navigation bar, then click the Favourites tab.
If you find that an institution is yet to be added to your Favourite Institutions list, or was removed from the list, you can easily add new institution to the list, or add back any institutions you previously had on the list.
- Click the Your Employer's Institutions tab towards the top of the page.
- Search for the institutions that you'd like to add to your Favourites list, and then click Add to Favourites.
Once added, you will be able to view applicants for institutions that are on your Favourite Institutions list when the Favourites filter is on.
Applications in Handshake can be withdrawn at anytime by either the student or Career Services. If you've set your notification preferences to receive an email every time a new student applies, you will receive an email to notify you that they've applied. However, if the application is withdrawn, a notification isn't delivered, and the student will no longer appear as an applicant in Handshake.
