If an applicant no longer appears in your list after you receive an application notification, there are a few possible reasons.
Why would an applicant disappear from my list?
The application was withdrawn
Applications in Handshake can be withdrawn by either the student or their school's Career Center. When this happens, the student is removed from your applicant list.
The application was never fully submitted
Some schools require that documents, such as resumes, be reviewed and approved by the Career Center before an application is considered complete.
If the student confirms they applied and did not withdraw their application, their resume may still be pending review. In this case, the student should contact their Career Center to check the status of the resume review.
Why did I receive an application notification but the application is now missing?
If your notification preferences are set to receive an email each time a student applies, you will be notified when an application is first submitted.
However, you will not receive a notification if the application is later withdrawn or if it is pending document approval.
How do I follow up on a missing application?
