If you've received notification via email that students have applied to one of your postings but you're unable to locate their application or they do not appear as an applicant in Handshake, it could be due to the toggle status of the Favorites School filter or the withdrawal of the application to your job.
Favorites School Filter:
If toggled on, Handshake will only display data for applicants for schools that are on your Favorites School list.
To view all applicants, you can toggle off the Favorite Schools filter. To learn more, refer to Using the Favorite Schools Filter.
If you'd like to only view applicants for schools that are on your Favorites School list, verify that the schools are listed in your Favorite Schools list.
You can locate your list of Favorite Schools by clicking on Schools in the left hand navigation bar, and clicking on Favorites.
If you find that a school is yet to be added to your Favorites School list, or was removed from the list, you can easily add new desired schools to the list, or add back any schools you previously had on the list.
- Click on the Your Employer's Schools tab towards the top of the page.
- Search for the schools that you'd like to add to your Favorites list, and then click Add to Favorites.
Once added, you will be able to view applicants for schools that are on your Favorites School list when the Favorites filter is on.
Application Withdrawal:
Applications in Handshake can be withdrawn at anytime by either the student or Career Services. If you've set your notification preferences to receive an email every time a new student applies, you will receive an email to notify you that they've applied. However, if the application is withdrawn, a notification isn't delivered, and the student will no longer appear as an applicant in Handshake.
