Handshake provides a list of applicants who applied through the platform, or who clicked a link to an external job posting if you directed them to an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

Jobs
Click Jobs from the left navigation bar, select the job you want to review applications for, then click the Applicants tab.
To refine your results, click the white button All filters above the applicant table.
You can also use the keyword search bar to find a specific candidate by name.
Available filters include:

- Rejected
- Hired
- Majors
- Schools
- Application date range
- Screening questions (only available to Plus employers)

To view a candidate's profile, click directly on their name. Learn more about Viewing Student Profiles.
On-campus interviews
Click Interviews from the left navigation bar, then select the interview you want to review applications for.
On the Interview Details page, click the blue button Review Applicants at the top of the page.
- Alternatively, you may click the Applicants tab in the upper-right corner of the page.
Click on the applicant's name to view their profile, which contains the following information:
- Applied to: The name of the job the candidate applied for.
- Status: The application status (Pending, Hired, Declined, Primary, Alternate).
- Application date: The date the application was created.
- Created by: The name of the user who created the application.
- Preferences: The number of job preferences the candidate matches for the position they have applied for.

Candidate qualifications
Jobs
If your job includes specified qualifications, the number a candidate meets will appear in the Qualifications column.
- A green checkmark icon indicates that the candidate meets all qualifications.
- If they meet some or none, the number they meet out of the total will be shown alongside an info icon.
To view candidates who meet all or some of your specified qualifications, use the options in the Matching qualifications filter:
- Latest graduation date
- GPA
- Majors

Work authorization
- Note: When the Work authorization filter is applied, candidates who meet your criteria or choose not to disclose their status will be included.
On-Campus Interviews
If your job includes specified qualifications, the ones a candidate meets will appear in the Preferences column.
Note: On the Interviews page, the Qualifications column is currently labeled Preferences.
Hover over each icon to view which qualifications the candidate meets and which they do not.
Application documents (PDF)
Jobs
To view the documents a candidate submitted with their application, click the paper clip icon next to the application date. The document will open in a new browser tab.
- The paper clip icon appears only if the job posting requires additional documents beyond the candidate’s Handshake profile.
- Only documents submitted directly through Handshake will be available. Files shared via external links cannot be accessed in Handshake.
On-Campus Interviews
Click directly on the applicant's name to open their profile, then click the Documents tab.
Click into the Select Document field to select the document you want to view. The document will display on the page.
To download the document, click the blue button Download Document.
