Advocate analysis allows Premium partners to view the aggregate activity of advocates in Handshake, and the engagement and reach of individual advocates.
The Advocates' report is only accessible to users with the following roles:
- Owner
- Admin
- Recruiter (Sourcer)
- Recruiter (Advanced)
If you do not have access, reach out to your company's Owner or Admin to request a role change or permission. For more information, refer to Who is the Owner of My Company's Profile?
Note: the Advocates tab in Analytics is part of the Advocate module — if you do not currently have this package, check with your Customer Success Manager for more information.

Access report
1. Click Analytics from the left navigation bar, then click the Advocates tab.
The page features two header sections with the following summary metrics for all advocates:
- Engagement on campaigns including advocates
- This engagement rate is compared to campaigns without advocates.
- Advocate response rate
- % of initial candidate messages advocates responded to
2. Use the filter labeled All time above the header sections to filter the data by campaign date.
The presets ranges are:
- All time (default)
- Last month
- Last 3 months
- Last 6 months
- Last year
Advocate metrics
The table below the header sections contains the following metrics for each advocate:
- Advocate name
- If the Advocate no longer has the role of Advocate, the headline "Former Advocate" displays under their name.
- Days since active
- Note: if an advocate has never logged into Handshake, they still appear with an indication that they are not active (yet).
- Message inclusions
- Number of times advocate was introduced
- Candidate engaged
- Number of candidates who reached out to the advocate
- Response rate
- % of initial candidate messages advocates responded to
- Median response time
Download report
1. Click the down arrow icon in the upper-right corner of the page, to the right of the header sections.
2. The message "Preparing download. This may take a few minutes. You will be notified when it is ready." will display in a blue banner at the top of the page.
3. The report will automatically download in CSV format. You will also receive an email with the file attached.
