This guide will walk you through how to register for a fair on Handshake. If you don't already have an employer account, you'll need to first sign up for Handshake. Use this resource to sign up for a new account: Create an Employer User Account, Join a Company, and Connect with Schools.
Note: if you need to cancel a registration, please contact the school's career services center for assistance. See the last portion of this page for steps to identify the fair's Point of Contact.

Follow these steps to register for a fair in Handshake:
1. To get to the fair's page, either click directly on the link in the invite email that was sent to you, or follow the steps here to search for the fair in Handshake: How to Search for a Career Fair
2. Once the Career Fair is located, you'll be taken directly to the Fair's Details page. This will give you an overview of all the necessary information pertaining to this Career Fair.
3. On this page, click the blue Register button located in the upper-right of the page.
This may have you first sign in. In this case, please sign in and repeat this step.
4. This will take you directly to the Career Fair's Registration form. You'll need to select or fill in the following information:
Registration Options
- Select one:
- Registration Type
- I will not be attending this day (for in-person fairs with more than one date and time)
- Add-on Items (vary per school and fair)
General Items
- Add-on Items (vary per school and fair)
Basic Information
- Employer Description (character limit set per school)
- Which division of the organization are you registering? (Divisions are only supported for in-person fairs at this time.)
Open Roles
- Are the role(s) you want to fill posted on Handshake? (yes/no/ I'm not hiring for a specific role right now)
- If yes/no is selected, you'll need to enter the Job Titles in the text field.
- If you're not hiring for a specific role right now, the Job Titles field will disappear.
- Do any of the positions that you are hiring for require work authorization? (yes/no)
- If yes is selected, also answer:
- Would you sponsor a work visa for the right candidate? (yes/no)
- Are you willing to hire candidates that are temporarily authorized to work for a defined period in their field of study? (e.g. for a job / internship under OPT/CPT) (yes/no)
- If yes is selected, also answer:
Looking for (optional)
- Employment Types (select one/many)
- Job Types (select one/many)
- School Years (select one/many)
- Major Groups (select major groups or individual majors)
Payment
- Manual or Credit Card (credit card payment allowed per school preference)
- Billing address
- Agree to refund policy (check box to agree)
Extra Questions
- These are questions created and managed by the school hosting the fair, so they will likely vary from school to school.
5. Once all information is filled out, click on the blue Create Registration in the lower-right corner of the page.
The Career Services Center will now need to approve your registration. You will not be able to pay your invoice for a fair until this has happened.
You will know you have successfully registered if you see the Registered option on the career fair instead of Register.
Note: Click on Registered to see the option to View Registration.

Additional Help & Tips
To troubleshoot any page timeouts or freezing, we recommend to clear your browsers cache and cookies, then try again in a fresh window. We also recommend using Google Chrome or Firefox as your web browser, and not Internet Explorer, if possible.
