Handshake is committed to making its platform accessible to all students, recognizing the importance of inclusivity in virtual interactions. This article provides guidance on how to navigate virtual events, appointments, and fairs with all users' needs in mind.
Handshake's Virtual Accessibility Features
Handshake has implemented several features to support students with disabilities. This includes the ability to request a transcriber for live captioning or an ASL interpreter during virtual events.
Requesting a Transcriber or ASL Interpreter
If you are in need of a transcriber or ASL interpreter for a virtual event, you'll need to contact your school's career center or accessibility office.
Your school will collaborate with the Handshake Support team to arrange for a transcriber or ASL interpreter to participate in your online interactions on Handshake.
