Employers in Handshake are able to access Job Matches, a resource that enables you to discover more candidates that are a match for posted jobs. Handshake Premium partners are also able to view and engage with more candidates via filters and customized Segments.
Matches identifies active student profiles that meet all of the criteria below:
- active at a school the job is posted to currently
- set to public (visible to employers)
- Profiles set to private (hidden from employers) are not included in this list.
- education information aligns with the selected job preferences on this job or chosen Segment
To access Matches, click Jobs from the left navigation bar in Handshake, click on the desired job's title, then click the Matches tab in the upper-left corner of the page, below the job title.
Core employers and Essentials partners are able to view up to 100 matches for the selected job.
Match Critera
On the left of the page, Match Criteria provides more information on how matches are displayed.
The example below represents the view for Core employers, with matches based on selected preferences:
If no preferences are selected, matches displays all active, public student profiles from schools the job is currently posted to.
Handshake Premium partner accounts (with a Premium seat) can choose to display matches based on their selected job preferences or for up to 5 selected segments. Job preferences are used to identify candidates until a Segment is added.
- Note: If your company is a Premium partner and you do not have the Segment option, reach out to the Owner of your company to request a Premium seat. Check out Who is the Owner of my Company's Profile? for steps!
To add a segment, click the gray button Add Segment.
In the popup that appears, select up to 5 segments from the dropdown menu, or click the linked text to create a new segment, then click the blue button Apply Changes.
Matches will update to display candidates that match the filters on the segment(s) applied.
Select the radio button for the segments or Job Preferences to change how matches are displayed, or click the three dots menu in the upper-right corner of the Match Criteria section, then click:
- Manage Segments: to change or remove applied segments
- Create Segment: to generate a new segment
