Handshake will provide you with a list of applicants who applied through the platform, or those who clicked on a link to an external job posting if you choose to direct applicants to an Applicant Tracking System.

Jobs
Click Jobs from the left navigation bar, select the job you want to review applications for, then click the Applicants tab.
To refine your search results, click the white button All filters above the applicant table.
You can also search for the candidate by typing their name in the keyword search bar.
You can filter applicants by:

- Reviewed
- Rejected
- Hired
- Courses
- Institutions
- Application date range

To view a candidate's profile, click directly on their name. Learn more about Viewing Student Profiles.
On-campus interviews
Click Interviews from the left navigation bar, then select the interview you want to review applications for.
On the Interview Details page, click the blue button Review Applicants at the top of the page.
- Alternatively, you may click the Applicants tab in the upper-right corner of the page.
Click on the applicant's name to view their profile, which contains the following information:
- Applied to: The name of the job the candidate applied for.
- Status: The application status (Pending, Hired, Declined, Primary, Alternate).
- Application date: The date the application was created.
- Created by: The name of the user who created the application.
- Preferences: The number of job preferences the candidate matches for the position they applied for.

Candidate qualifications
Jobs
If you've specified qualifications, the number of qualifications that the candidate meets will be displayed in the Qualifications column.
- If the candidate meets all the job qualifications, a green checkmark icon will appear to the right of the number.
- If the candidate meets only some or none of the qualifications, the number of qualifications they meet out of the total will be shown without a green checkmark.
To view only candidates who meet all or some of your qualifications, select from the options within the Matching qualifications filter.

Work authorisation
- Note: when this option is selected, all candidates who meet your work authorisation criteria or chose not to disclose their status will be displayed.
Interviews
If you've specified qualifications, the qualifications that the candidate meets will be displayed in the Preferences column.
Note: the Qualifications column on the Interviews page is currently labeled Preferences.
Hover your mouse over each icon to understand which qualifications the candidate meets and doesn't meet.
Application documents (PDF)
Jobs
To view the documents a candidate submitted with their application, click the paper clip icon to the right of the application date. The document will open in a new tab in your browser.
- The paper clip icon only appears if additional documents are required beyond the candidate's Handshake profile.
- Only documents submitted through Handshake as required will be available to view. Documents received via an external link won't be available in Handshake.
Interviews
Click directly on the applicant's name to open their profile, then click the Documents tab.
Click into the Select Document field to select the document you want to view. The document will display on the page.
To download the document, click the blue button Download Document.
