After posting a job on Handshake, you may realise you have selected more institutions than intended.
While there is not a way to remove individual institutions from a job posting, you can still refine where your job is posted.
To ensure your job reaches the right institutions, follow the steps below in the order provided.
If you need to edit other details of your job posting, refer to How to Edit a Job Posting.
Access job posting
Click Jobs from the left navigation bar, then select the job you want to remove an institution(s) from.
Close job
1. On the job posting page, click the three-dot menu icon in the upper-right corner, then select Close job from the dropdown.
Note: Because jobs cannot be removed from individual institutions, you’ll need to close the job before making any changes.
2. In the pop-up modal, click the black button Close job to confirm that you want to close the job at all institutions.
3. After closing the job, you will be redirected to the Overview tab on the job posting page.
Note: If the page does not display a closed date, refresh the page.
Duplicate job
On the job posting page, click the three-dot menu icon in the upper right corner of the page, then select Duplicate job from the dropdown.
Tip: Before posting the new job posting, double-check your institution selections to avoid extra steps.
To complete the process, refer to the steps in How to Duplicate a Job Posting.
Access applicants
After closing a job posting, you can still access all applicant information. The job post will remain available, allowing you to review applications as needed. To access your applicants, check out our Job Applicant Management Guide.
