Your institution's career services department may choose to spotlight specific jobs, employers, events, and career fairs using curated categories known as Career Centre Collections on Handshake.
These collections are thoughtfully designed to help you explore opportunities that align with your unique career goals and interests.
Use the expandable sections below to learn how to explore, search, and identify Career Centre Collections at your institution.
Explore Career Centre Collections
Interested in discovering jobs, employers, events, and fairs curated by your institution? here’s how to access Career Centre Collections on both desktop and mobile:
On Desktop
Click Career Center on the left navigation menu, then locate your institution's Career Centre Collections section. Alternatively, click Explore on the left navigation menu, then scroll to the bottom of the page to locate Career Centre Collections.
You can either:
- Click on a specific collection that interests you to view relevant opportunities.
- Click the link View all collections to browse all curated categories.
- On the Career Centre Collections page, you’ll find category tiles. Use the filters at the top of the page to narrow your search and click on any tile to explore that collection in detail.
Once you're on a specific category page, you'll have access to two tabs at the top: Jobs and Employers. If your career services department has added any events or fairs, those tabs will also be available.
Click on any tab to explore the curated content within the category.
Each item—whether a job, employer, event, or fair—is displayed as a tile. here's what happens when you click on each:
- Jobs: the job posting in Handshake, which includes the description, application instructions, and deadlines.
- Employers: the employer’s profile to view available opportunities and learn more about the company.
- Events & Fairs: the details page, which includes registration links, and related resources.
To return to the main Career Centre Collections page, click Back to collections in the upper-left corner.

On Mobile app
Tap on your icon in the upper-left corner of the screen, then tap Career Centre.
Tap Career Centre Collections from the menu, then scroll to choose a category of interest from the list.
Once you're on a specific category page, you'll have access to two tabs at the top: Jobs and Employers. If your career services department has added any events or fairs, those tabs will also be available.
Click on any tab to explore the curated content within the category.

Search jobs via Career Centre Collections
Looking for jobs or internships curated by your institution? You can easily filter your job search by Career Centre Collections to discover opportunities aligned with your interests!
Note: The list of categories available directly from the job search page may be limited. To view the full list of collections your career centre has created, visit the Career Centre Collections page.
On Desktop
There are two ways to access your institution’s collections from the Jobs page. Start by clicking Jobs in the left navigation menu, then choose one of the following:
- The white button [INSTITUTION] collections, located to the right of the search bar. Click in the text box to select a specific category via the dropdown, then click the black button Apply.
- The All filters option, located at the far right of the header bar. Within side sheet, scroll down to locate the [INSTITUTION] collections section and click in the text box to select a specific category via the dropdown, then click the black button Apply.
Once filtered, jobs that match your selected collection(s) will appear as a list on the left side of the page.

On Mobile app
- Tap Jobs at the bottom centre of the screen.
- Tap the More filters icon just below the search bar.
- Scroll to find [INSTITUTION] Collections.
- Tap Add Collections for the category to be listed under your [INSTITUTION] Collections.
- Once all categories have been added, click the back button then tap Show jobs.
Follow a Collection and set up job alerts
Following a Career Centre Collection is a great way to stay aligned with your career goals—by doing so, you’ll get quick access to curated jobs, events, and fairs your career centre has handpicked just for you.
To follow a collection, click the black Follow button in the upper-right corner of the categories page.
After following, a job alert is automatically set for you as a proactive way to stay in the loop, save time in your job search, and receive updates and alerts for new opportunities that match your interests within the category.
Search Events and Fairs via Career Centre Collections
Click Events on the left navigation menu, then click the [INSTITUTION NAME] Collections filter located below the search bar. From the dropdown, select the categories you're interested.
Note: if there's zero search results, the view results button will appear greyed out.
Once you've selected your categories, click the blue button View results to explore the curated events and fairs.
All the curated events and fairs are displayed as tiles—clicking the tile will take you to the event or fair page, where you can find event details, registration links, and any additional resources.
Identify Jobs And Employers Within A Career Centre Collection
Career Centre collections at your institution can be identified by a grey badge. You'll find these in Handshake across several areas, including the job list during your search, the jobs details page, and employer profiles.
- Job list: The badges appear below the job title, for easy recognition.
- Job details page: The badges are displayed midway down the page, under the section "About the employer" section.
💡Note: up to three badges may be displayed at a time. If the employer or job is a part of more than three institution collections, a plus sign badge is present. Hover over the plus sign badge to discover other collections the employer is a part of!
