If you want your event to be available only to a select group of students, you can restrict access by making the event invite only. Only students who are invited will be able to access the registration page.
Note: If the event has student qualifications associated with it, the student must be both invited and meet the qualifications to register.
To set invite-only access while creating a new event, visit Events: Creating an Event.
Make an existing event invite only
1. Click Events under Schedule from the left navigation bar.
2. Click the event you want to update.
3. Click the Edit tab in the upper-right corner of the page.
4. Click Attendance on the left side of the page.
5. Scroll to the Admission section and check the box next to Invite only to restrict event visibility to the students you invite through Handshake.
6. Click the black Update button in the lower-right corner to publish your changes.
Invite students to the event
To invite students to the event, refer to Events: Inviting Students.
Note: The student preview link does not act as an invitation. If a student receives the preview link for an invite-only event, they can review the event details but will not be able to register.
