If a student is archived by your institution in Handshake and wants to reconnect to your school, they can submit a Reactivation Request. This request will appear as a notification, and will need to be approved or declined by a career services user.
To approve or decline a students reactivation request via notification, follow the steps below.
1. Click the person icon, located in the upper-right corner of the screen.
2. Use the filters at the top of the page to locate the students request.
3. Click Decision dropdown menu. Choose Approve or Reject to either accept or decline the student's attempt to connect to your school.
4. A popup will ask to you confirm your choice. Choose Yes, approve or Yes, reject to finalize your decision.
Once the student is reactivated, you'll need to decide whether the student should be included in student syncs via the Importer or not.
- If the student shouldn't be included, follow the steps outlined in Importer: Excluding Students from Automatic Syncs to remove them.
- If they should be included, make sure the box is unchecked for Exclude from Automatic Syncs. You may refer to Importer: Excluding Students from Automatic Syncs for steps to locate this setting.
