Handshake imports externally posted jobs to ensure students have access to a comprehensive set of opportunities without leaving the platform.
Imported jobs come from LinkedIn and company websites, and are only imported for employers that already exist in Handshake and have completed the verification and validation process.
Note: Imported jobs are currently available only for Basic employers.
For information on the employer experience with imported jobs, visit Imported Jobs on Handshake.
Imported job criteria and behavior
- Jobs must meet your institution's auto-approval criteria to be posted to your school. For more information on your auto-approval criteria, refer to Job Automatic Approval Configuration.
- Imported jobs that meet your auto-approval criteria are posted automatically and do not require manual approval from you or your staff. You will not receive an influx of pending job postings from this process.
- As with other approved jobs, you may decline an imported job after it passes through automatic approval.
- Imported jobs function as external-apply job postings on Handshake. When a student clicks Apply, they will be directed to the employer's external application flow.
- Students cannot tell that a job has been imported. Employers, however, will have a visual indicator confirming the job was imported by Handshake.
- Imported jobs do not have an assigned owner by default. Any user connected to the employer account, with the exception of representatives, may claim ownership to manage and review applicants for that job.
