Suggested responses in your inbox help you reply faster to candidates who respond to Automated Outreach messages, which Handshake sends automatically based on criteria you set for a job posting.
Who can use suggested responses?
- Suggested responses are available to all employers using Automated Outreach, except on-campus employers.
- Suggested responses only apply to replies to Automated Outreach messages.
How do I review a suggested response?
Handshake may draft a response based on the associated job posting, but it does not send anything automatically. You review the draft first.
1. Open your Inbox.
2. Find a conversation labeled Suggested response.
Tip: Use the Automated Outreach filter to narrow your inbox and locate these conversations faster.
3. Open the conversation.
4. Read the suggested response.
5. Choose one action:
- Accept to send the response as written.
- Edit to open a textbox where you can revise the wording, then click Send when ready.
- Reject to dismiss the suggestion.
Why doesn't every conversation have a suggested response?
Handshake does not generate a suggestion for every candidate reply. A suggestion may be withheld when:
- The reply does not require an answer.
- The reply requires information Handshake cannot access.
- The reply involves a safety concern.
- The job posting does not contain enough detail to answer reliably.
