Employers can engage with students by registering for career fairs on Handshake, whether in person or virtual. Participating in career fairs strengthens your talent pipeline and enhances your visibility with students across campuses.
Note: Only institutions can create and host career fairs on Handshake; employers cannot host fairs.

Register for a fair
1. Click Fairs from the left navigation bar, then search for the fair you want to attend.
If you received an invitation email from an institution, click the link in the email to register.

2. On the fair’s Details page, click the black button Register in the top-right corner.
- If you do not see the option to register or encounter any issues, refer to Resolving issues Registering for a Career Fair.
3. Complete the New Registration form.

- If the division you want isn’t listed, click the “here” link in the form to create a new division.
Open Roles
Indicate if the role(s) you want to fill are posted on Handshake:
Yes → Select jobs from the Jobs on Handshake dropdown.
No → Enter job titles in the Job titles field.
I’m not hiring right now → Select this option if applicable.

4. Once all required information has been entered, click on the blue button Create Registration in the lower-right corner of the page.
5. After your registration is submitted successfully, you will be directed to the registration overview page.

If you registered for a virtual fair, the message "Almost done! Schedule setup needed." displays in a pop-up modal. Click the I understand button in the lower-right corner to proceed.

Career fair notifications
Employers may receive notifications related to their fair participation, such as:
Comments on a registration
Registration approvals
Career fair reminders before the event
Candidate cancellations for 1-on-1 session (virtual fairs)
Reminders to create a schedule before student registration opens (virtual fairs)
Note: Employers must ensure these notification preferences are enabled in their account settings. For instructions, refer to Default Notification Preferences (Employers).
Interested in getting notified when a particular career fair registration opens at a certain institution?
Employers will receive notifications about upcoming career fairs from institutions already connected with their company on Handshake.If your company is not connected with an institution, you will not receive notifications from Handshake. In this case, you can contact the institution’s career centre and request to be added to their contact list to receive updates directly.
