To register for a fair, ensure you have a Handshake account. If you’re new and haven’t created an account yet, refer to Create an Employer User Account, Join a Company, and Connect with Institutions.

Register for a fair
1. Click Fairs from the left navigation bar, then search for the fair you want to register for. Learn How to Search for a Career Fair.
- If you received an invitation from the institution's career services office, you can register by clicking the link provided in the invitation email.
2. On the career fair Details page, click the blue button Register in the upper-right corner of the page.

3. Next, select or fill in the following information on the New Registration form.
Registration Options

Registration Type (varies per institution)
- Select type
- Select I will not be attending this day (for in-person fairs with more than one date and time) if applicable

Representatives
- Total Representatives Count for Session
- Enter the total number of representatives attending the fair.
- Names of Representatives Attending this Session
- Select the representative(s) from the dropdown, or type to filter results.
- Click on Create it here if contact isn't listed. Learn How to Create an External Contact.
- Select the representative(s) from the dropdown, or type to filter results.
- Total Representatives Count for Session
- Add-on Items (varies per institution and fair)
General Items
- Add-on Items (varies per institution and fair)
Basic Information

Employer Description (character limit set per institution)
- The text box is pre-filled with your company description. Modify the description as needed.

Schedule Owner
- Select the career fair registrant from the dropdown, or type to filter results.

Which division of the organisation are you registering?
- Note: Divisions are only supported for in-person fairs at this time.
- If applicable, select division from dropdown.
- If you want to register the entire company, leave this field blank.
- If you're not seeing the division you want, click the hyperlinked text "here" to create a new division.
- To register multiple divisions, complete a new registration for each division. Learn how to Register multiple divisions.
Open Roles

Are the role(s) you want to fill posted on Handshake? (select one)

- If Yes, navigate to the Jobs on Handshake field and choose the jobs from the dropdown, or type to filter results.

- If No, navigate to the Job Titles field and enter the titles of the jobs you are hiring for.

- These are questions created and managed by the institution hosting the fair, so they'll vary from institution to institution.
4. Once all information is filled out, click on the blue button Create Registration in the lower-right corner of the page.
5. After successful registration, you'll be directed to the registration overview page.
Register multiple divisions
1. Navigate to the Fairs page, then select the fair you want to register multiple divisions for.
Tip: Use the filter Show Registered Only to narrow down the displayed list.
2. Click the green button Registered to the far right of the Details page, then select +Register another division.
3. Complete and submit the New Registration form as outlined in Register for a fair.
Registration approval
The host institution will review all submitted registrations. Once approved, your registration(s) will display as "Approved" on both the Fairs page and within each respective registration (if registering multiple divisions).
If email notifications are enabled, an approval email will be sent to the address associated with your Handshake account. Review your Default Notification Preferences (Employers).
If you submitted multiple division registrations for the same fair, the Career Fair page will show more than one approval status.

Pay for a registration
You won't be able to pay your invoice until approved. For additional details, refer to How to Pay for a Career Fair Registration.
Cancel a registration
If you need to cancel a registration, contact the institution's career services centre for assistance.
