To post jobs or events to students, you must request and receive approval from each institution selected.
After you submit a request to connect with a institution(s) on Handshake, your request is automatically sent to each Career Centre. Your request will remain in a Pending status until the institution approves or declines your request.
During this time, you cannot interact with students at the institution, post events, or request interview schedules at the institution.
View institution status
1. To begin, click Institutions from the left navigation bar, then click the More Institutions on Handshake tab.
2. To narrow your search results, select the Approval Status filter from the left sidebar, and check the boxes for Pending or In Progress.
3. The table will display all institutions that have either a Pending or In Progress status, which indicates that your company has not yet been approved by the institution.
Timeframe
It typically takes 1-5 business days for an institution to approve an employer and their job postings. If you do not receive a response within that time frame, contact the Career Services department at the institution.
Once the institution approves or declines your request, you will be notified of your status via a notification and/or email. To view, or adjust your notification preferences, refer to Default Notification Preferences (Employers).
Note: your Handshake connection status with an institution can only be changed by the Career Centre at that institution.
Contact career services
To contact the Career Centre, search for and click on the institution's name in the search bar, located in the top-left of the page.
Their contact information will be located to the left of their profile page in the Contact Information section.
