Discovering fairs and events
Students can find fairs and events of interest via Handshake's home feed or the Events section within the mobile app.
- Handshake home feed - The content displayed on the home feed is unique to each student and can be accessed by tapping Feed in the lower-left corner of the screen. Events shown on the home feed are tailored to the student based on factors such as their course, career interests, location, and graduation year. To learn more about Handshake's home feed from a student perspective, refer to Handshake Home Feed: Overview & Interactions.
- Events section - Within the events section, located in the bottom center of the screen — students have the same search filters as their desktop experience. This allows them to narrow their search and find events and fairs of interest. To learn more about the available filters for student experience on desktop, check out Discover Events & Fairs in Handshake.
Registering for a fair or event
On the events details page, students can register directly from the app by tapping the Register button.
Below is a video of registering for a career fair from the home feed.
Accessing registered fairs and events
All registered fairs and events can be found within the Events section by tapping the calendar icon, located in the upper-right corner of the screen.
The events are arranged in ascending order, starting with the closest one at the top and ending with the farthest one at the bottom.
Checking into a fair booth
For in-person fairs, some employers may have their own scannable QR codes to track check-in at their booth. Students can use their mobile device to scan the QR code to check in with the employer.
For more information on the student experience of checking in via QR code, refer to Check-in with an Employer at an Event or Fair.
