When a student or alum creates their own account and requests to connect to their school on Handshake, an email notification is automatically generated (details and example below).
From: Handshake <handshake@notifications.joinhandshake.com>
Subject: Pending Student Registration
Header: Pending Student Registration
Content: "Hello NAME,
It looks like you are a student at SCHOOL NAME. The administrators at SCHOOL NAME have been notified and will be approving your request. For further assistance, please contact your school at EMAIL ADDRESS."
Note: while the request is pending, the student will have limited access to Handshake until they are approved. For more information on the limited access a student will have refer to If You Can Only Access Profile and Fairs.
If the connection request is approved either automatically or by a career services staff member, an email notification is generated (details and example below).
From:Handshake <handshake@notifications.joinhandshake.com>
Subject: Approved Student Registration
Header: Approved Student Registration
Content: "Hello NAME,
Your request to join SCHOOL NAME has been approved."
If the request is rejected by a career services staff member, an email notification is not sent to the student, but a message is displayed within a yellow box at the top of their homepage that states:
"Your request to be connected to SCHOOL NAME was denied. You will be unable to access jobs posted to SCHOOL NAME. You can contact your school at EMAIL ADDRESS."
