Many schools let you access Handshake through Single Sign-On (SSO) using your campus login. If you no longer have access to SSO, or you prefer to sign in with an email and password, you can create Handshake login credentials.
Your Handshake login credentials are is the email address on your Handshake account and a password created by you. It is separate from your school’s SSO password.
If you’ve already created a Handshake password but can’t remember it, you can reset it anytime. For instructions, refer to Reset the Password for a Student Account in Handshake.
Create your Handshake credentials
1. Go to the Handshake login page.
2. In the "Find your school" box, type your school name and select it from the dropdown.
3. If your school uses SSO: Do not select the button to log in with your school. Instead, click Continue with email and enter the email address associated with your Handshake account.
If your school does not use SSO: Enter the email address associated with your Handshake account and click Next.
4. Handshake will recognize the email address in the system—enter your password and click Login.
5. A confirmation email will be sent to your inbox. Go to your inbox, find the email, and click Set My Password. If you have trouble receiving the confirmation email, refer to Troubleshooting Missing Confirmation Email.
6. Once confirmed, you’ll be prompted to create a new password. Enter your password in the provided fields, then click Next.
Tip: Your password must be at least 8 characters long and include at least 2 of the following: letters, numbers, and special characters.
After you successfully set your password, you can log in to Handshake using your email and newly created password.
