If a school has declined your job posting, they may invite you to submit a second approval request after reviewing the reason for the decline.
This article explains how decline notifications work and how to resubmit your job if the option is available.

Note: Employers can only be invited to resubmit a job for approval once.

How job declines work
When a school declines a job posting, they are prompted to select a reason for the decline and decide whether to allow a second approval request.
The decline reason is added as a comment on the job posting and can be accessed from the Requested Schools section in the Schools tab of the posting.
The comment is visible to both the school's team and any teammates connected to your company profile.

Decline notifications
When a posting is declined, Handshake automatically sends a notification to the teammate who posted the job, based on their notification preferences.
To adjust your preferences, refer to Default Notification Preferences (Employers).
In Handshake:
- Click the globe icon in the upper-right corner of any page, to the left of your name.
- Select School from the left sidebar, then locate the notification by school name.
The notification reads: "A staff member at [SCHOOL NAME] has declined the job [TITLE] at [SCHOOL NAME]."
- Click directly on the job title to view the decline details.
Via email
Decline notifications are sent to the email address associated with the Handshake account of the teammate who posted the job.

Submit a second approval request
If the school has opted to allow a second request, follow these steps to resubmit your job.
1. In the pop-up, review the decline reason and any comments provided by the school.
2. To respond before resubmitting, enter your reply in the text box in the Comments & Activity section, then click the gray Add Comment button.
Tip: Address the school's concerns and respond to any comments before resubmitting.
3. Click the blue Request approval again button, then click Close in the lower-right corner.
Note: If the Request approval again button is not visible, the school has not opted to allow a second request.
